Hon. Williams attend the Inaugaration Ceremony of the Federation of Liberian Association in Canada as Keynote Speaker

After his brief speech and deliberations at the Grebo Association Organisation in Edmonton City Alberta, Canada, Hon. Williams was again invited to serve as a Keynote Speaker at the Federation of Liberian Associations in Canada's induction Ceremony in Hamilton City.

Topic: What We Expect From a Good Leader
Distinguished President of the Federation of Liberian Associations in Canada, honourable elected officials, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen:
I bring you warm greetings from the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Deputy Speaker and the Honourable Members of the 55th House of Representatives of the Republic of Liberia.
It is a great honour to stand before you today to speak on the topic, "What We Expect from a Good Leader."
A good leader is not someone who only seeks power, recognition, or personal glory.
A good leader is someone who serves the people with honesty, integrity, humility, and unwavering commitment.
We expect a good leader to listen carefully to the concerns of the people, make fair and just decisions, and always place the interests of the community above personal gain.
A good leader must be trustworthy, transparent, and accountable for every action taken on behalf of the people.
Leadership demands leading by example.
It requires inspiring hope where there is despair, promoting unity where there is division, and creating opportunities where there are challenges.
A true leader works tirelessly to improve the lives of those he or she has been entrusted to serve.
We also expect a good leader to demonstrate courage during difficult times, compassion toward the vulnerable, and a clear vision for building a better future for the next generation.
True leadership unites people around a common purpose rather than dividing them for political or personal advantage.
Leadership is not about titles, positions, or privileges.
It is about service, sacrifice, responsibility, accountability, and delivering meaningful results that improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
As we gather here today, I wish to recognise the important role the Federation of Liberian Associations in Canada continues to play in supporting Liberia's development.
I respectfully encourage the Federation to consider extending greater support to Pleebo-Sodoken District #2 and Maryland County through meaningful development initiatives.
Your partnership can make a lasting difference by supporting educational scholarships for deserving students, providing learning materials for schools, assisting with the renovation and construction of educational facilities, and promoting vocational and technical training for young people.
In the health sector, your support can help improve clinics and hospitals through the donation of medical equipment, essential medicines, ambulances, and training opportunities for healthcare workers.
In the area of sanitation and public health, you can contribute to clean water projects, public latrines, waste management initiatives, hygiene education, and community sanitation programs that will reduce preventable diseases and improve living conditions.
The Federation can also help promote agriculture by supporting local farmers with modern farming tools and training, empowering women and youth through entrepreneurship programs, improving internet access and digital education, strengthening community infrastructure, assisting with emergency response services such as fire and rescue equipment, and supporting community development projects that create employment and improve livelihoods.
Together, we can build stronger communities, empower our young people, improve healthcare, expand educational opportunities, and create sustainable development for Maryland County and Liberia as a whole.
In closing, let us remember that the true measure of a good leader is not found in speeches or promises, but in the lives that are transformed through faithful service, integrity, and lasting development. May we all strive to lead with humility, compassion, and a genuine commitment to serving our people.
